The Landing of Columbus, 1847, by John Vanderlyn

New York-born John Vanderlyn (1775-1852) was a student of Gilbert Stuart. However, he was trained and worked in Paris. There he worked on this canvas for ten years. It is 12 feet by 18 feet.
