The human template: predatory, acquisitive, flat-out crazy.

The name's Smith--can I buy all five of you a drink? We'll show you a segue. Speaking of porn, cow-sex humor, not keeping a lid on either if you are a public official, and other strangeness, in his books, Selling the Invisible author Harry Beckwith will remind us that clients, client reps and GCs, like other humans, can be and will be a bit off the wall. We are all irrational. And that's especially true when a service--after all, you are selling an experience--is being sold. Well, what can you do? Nothing, Jack. Just know it, and know you will never win an argument with It when it surfaces. Salon's piece today, "Hard Drive", is about homo sapien sexuality (male, mainly), but it could apply to any "irrational" instinct any of us harbor and act on.
