Second City: Manchester, England

"It's a mean old town to live in by yourself." Still gritty and real, the city once had an economic school of thought named after it, via England's Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. Life's hard everywhere these days, not just in Manchester. But don't wimp out and mail it in. Get Mean and Eternal like Johnny Winter. Have nice day, law cattle.

Dan,

Thanks for the recent posts on Edgar Winter and Johnny Winter. I hadn't listened to them in a long time.

I will have to find -- somewhere on the interwebs :-) -- the old live recording ("Roadwork", an Edgar Winter album) where Johnny came in to do a stunning rendition of "Still Alive and Well" with Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, and crew.

Oh, yeah. Rock 'n Roll Hoochie-Koo on the same album.
