Rule 9: If you want a lawyer's life on your terms, consider a different career. How about the kazoo?
Lawyering is a privilege. In our vexing but correct and righteous 12 Rules, Rule Nine is "Be There For Clients--24/7". It's not about the lawyers. If you want a lawyer's life on your terms, consider changing careers. Move to rural France. Maybe learn to play the lute. No? How about the kazoo? Or work with street people. Wait. Here's one: rescue feral cats.
